Our city has been recognised, alongside eight European towns and cities, for its innovative urban mobility strategy at the 2018 CITIVAS Awards ceremony in Umeå, Sweden.

Ghent received the CIVITAS Bold Measure Award at this year’s Civitas Forum Conference for its Traffic Management as a Service (TMaaS) platform, based on “a daring and innovative approach that has yet to be widely implemented”. The ‘Bold Measure’ Award was presented on September 20th in Umeå, Sweden to Sophie Gillaerts, project coordinator of TMaaS and Peter Meirsschaut, City of Ghent in recognition of the bold and innovative approach that positions the city of Ghent as a pioneer in a number of important transport themes.

During this event, four cities were rewarded for their special efforts in the field of forward-looking transport solutions. The other three winners this year were Reggio Emilia (Italy), Szeged (Hungary) and Banja Luka (Bosnia and Hercegovina).
